1965 — The Who released their rebellious anthem "My Generation" as a single in the United States. 1966 — The Monkees hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their debut single "Last Train to Clarksville," just eight weeks after their TV series premiered. 1970 — Led Zeppelin released "Immigrant Song" as a single in the United States.
